16/10/2008 - The results of the ERLAIM project are presented at the seminar held in Athens on the 16th of October 2008.
The event is organised by the Commission for Constitutional Affairs, European Governance and the Area of Freedom, Security and Justice of the Committee of the Regions, in co-operation with the Local Union of Municipalities and Communities of Attica.
The seminar highlights the role and responsibilities of local and regional authorities in integrating migrants and identifying local and regional best practice, actions and initiatives in this area to face the current integration challenges and how to be better prepared to the future ones. The presence of representatives from EU institutions also helps to have an overview of the EU´s approach to immigration and integration policies and to promote close dialogue with the representatives of local and regional authorities in order to find ways to better respond to integration problems.
